Insight oil level sensor error
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Honda Insight is experiencing an oil level sensor error, accompanied by speedometer issues, error messages, and a warning light. The problem could be due to a faulty sensor or loose/corroded connections at the sensor. Checking and securing the sensor's cable and plug connections is suggested as an initial step. If the issue persists, professional inspection and potential replacement of the signal wiring may be necessary.

Good call! Are you talking about the connector right at the sensor itself? Was yours visibly corroded or loose?

Yep, that's the one. I didn't see any corrosion, but it seemed a bit loose. Honestly, I just wiggled it a bit and the problem went away for a while, but eventually I had to take it to a workshop to fix the issue in the long run. They mentioned something about replacing the signal wiring.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like checking that connection is the first thing I should do. If that doesn't fix it, off to the shop it goes. Thanks!

Insight owner here. Sounds familiar. Had similar symptoms a while back. Did you check the cable and plug connections to the sensor? Might be something simple.
