Insight oxygen sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Honda Insight hybrid is experiencing a check engine light, stored error, and increased fuel consumption, likely due to an oxygen sensor issue. Diagnostics suggest the problem may be caused by a defective cable or plug. A similar case was resolved by checking the sensor's wiring and connector for damage or corrosion, but ultimately required professional repair. The suggested solution is to visit a workshop for a definitive fix.

When you experienced these symptoms, did the diagnostic tools specifically indicate a fault with the oxygen sensor, or was it a more general error code related to the air-fuel ratio? I'm trying to figure out how specific the diagnostic information was.

Yes, the diagnostic tool pointed directly to the oxygen sensor. Honestly, I tried cleaning the contacts and fiddling with the wiring, but it only temporarily fixed the issue. In the end, I just took it to a workshop. Saved me a lot of hassle.

I had similar symptoms with my Insight, although I didn't check the error memory. It was the oxygen sensor, like you suspect. Have you checked the sensor's wiring and the connector for any signs of damage or corrosion?
