Insignia ABS Fault

My 2008 Vauxhall Insignia petrol is throwing a hissy fit. Mileage is pushing 170k km. The ABS lamp is constantly lit, traction control is all over the place, and the ABS system is basically non-existent. I suspect a speed signal fault. Has anyone seen this before? I'm thinking it is the control unit, but could do with another opinion before I start ripping things apart.

Sounds like a defective control unit is the most probable cause, given the symptoms. Has the speedometer malfunctioned as well? Any issues with the ECM reporting errors?

Speedometer seems okay, that's throwing me off. I haven't hooked it up to a reader myself, but I can get that done. Would that give me a definitive answer then?

If the speedometer is working correctly, it is still most likely the control unit, though you might have wiring issues with one of the ABS sensors. Checking the ECM error codes should confirm it. Given the ABS failure, I recommend taking it to a workshop if you are not comfortable.

Plugged it into a code reader in the end, and it was indeed a defective control unit. I had it replaced, cost around 1000€ all in, but she's running smooth again.
