Thanks. Could you elaborate on the acceleration sensors? Where are they located, and is it possible to test them independently?

I am no expert, but I think there are impact sensors in the front of the car, they trigger the active hood. I didn't try to find them myself. Honestly, I just took it to a workshop. They ran some proper diagnostics. In the end, it turned out to be a defective sensor, like I said. It's best to get it checked by someone who knows their stuff, cause it’s a safety system after all.

I appreciate your input. I followed your recommendation and consulted a technician. The issue was indeed traced to a defective acceleration sensor. The repair, including parts and labor, cost 315€. The system is now functioning as expected.

Oh, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Insignia. The 'Active hood fault' message kept popping up, and the airbag light was super annoying. Did you check the acceleration sensors? That's where my problem was rooted, they are part of the safety system. Was the car involved in any impact?
