Could you elaborate on the specifics of your experience? Were the symptoms identical, and did you ascertain the root cause with certainty? Any details regarding the troubleshooting steps you undertook would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, pretty much a carbon copy of what you're describing. I didn't dive too deep into troubleshooting myself, to be honest. Just got it towed straight to the workshop, and they confirmed it was something to do with the gear shifter control unit. It's looking like that is your problem, too. Sadly, that will probably cost about 1000€

I appreciate the confirmation and the estimated cost. It seems our vehicles share a similar plight. Based on your recommendation and the corroborating symptoms, I shall consult with a trusted mechanic to assess and rectify the issue, focusing on the control unit as the likely culprit. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hey, I have an Insignia too and that sounds suspiciously like the issue I had a while back. Check your gear shifter. Mine was completely messed up. Same symptoms... wouldn't start, lights on, the whole shebang.
