Insignia Brake Light Errors

Riding the brakes? Maybe a touch on long downhills, but nothing excessive. So you reckon it's definitely the brake light switch? Where is it, anyway? Is it easy to get to?

Worth checking the switch first. With my Peugeot, it was right behind the pedal; a pain to get at. Seems it's sensitive; even minor constant pressure can screw it. Still, sounds electrical, I'd get it to the workshop

You were spot on about the brake light switch! Turns out I was ever so slightly resting my foot on the pedal, causing the fault! Changed my driving habits! No new parts needed, so it cost me nothing. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar! I had similar brake light issues with my old Peugeot, dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Could be a faulty brake light switch. They're usually dirt cheap. Have you been riding the brakes, even lightly?
