Cheers for the quick response! The error messages are pretty generic, nothing specific. The electrical issue is that the internal lights flicker, and sometimes the infotainment system freezes, navigation is off. Nothing obvious happened recently (no battery replacement). What could I check myself?

Okay, generic errors and flaky electrics...yep, still leaning towards the control unit having a bad day. It sounds like the programming is implausible, like a file got corrupted on your computer. Honestly, at this point, without diagnostic tools, you're chasing ghosts. Best bet is to take it to a shop with the right kit so they can do a proper software reset or recalibration. They will check the error memory and can deal with the software malfunction. You will need to shell out 240€ for the repair though! It is like trying to diagnose a virus on your PC with only MS Paint – you'll need the right software for the job.

Thanks so much for the help! Took it to the garage and they've confirmed it's a software issue with the control unit, like you said. Getting it reset tomorrow, hopefully that'll sort it. Thanks!

Sounds like your Insignia's brain might have gotten scrambled. When you say 'error messages,' are they all over the place, or are they related to a specific system? And when you say electrical issues, what exactly is malfunctioning? Think of your car like a computer - sometimes a simple software glitch can cause all sorts of weirdness. Has anything specific happened recently, like a jump start or a battery replacement? Just trying to get a clearer picture.
