Insignia engine fault Rail pressure sensor signal
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Vauxhall Insignia diesel is experiencing issues with the check engine light, engine stalling at idle, and reduced power. The OBD scan indicates a faulty rail pressure sensor signal, which is likely causing these problems. A similar case suggests that replacing the rail pressure sensor, preferably by a professional due to the complexity and safety concerns of the fuel system, resolved the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! Was it definitely the rail pressure sensor? Did you replace it yourself or take it to a shop?

Yep, pretty sure it was the rail pressure sensor. I tried cleaning the contacts first, but no luck. Ultimately, I took it to a reputable workshop because messing with the fuel system yourself can be dangerous. They confirmed it was the sensor. Cost me about 240€ to get it sorted including labour.

Okay, thanks a lot! I appreciate the advice. I'll book it in at the workshop to get the sensor replaced. Hopefully, that will solve the problem.

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my Insignia. Check engine light, occasional stalling, and definitely a loss of power. I would bet the fuel pressure sensor is going bad. When it happened to me, the readings were all over the place.
