Insignia Fog Sensor Malfunction

Experiencing a perplexing issue with my 2018 Vauxhall Insignia diesel. My fog sensor appears to be malfunctioning, triggering an error. The air conditioning won't engage, the windscreen washer jets are frozen, and the mirror heating is non-functional. Suspect a defective cable or plug on the fog sensor. Anyone encountered a similar problem?

That does sound annoying! Is the dashboard throwing up any specific warning lights related to the climate control or any of the affected components? Just wondering if it might be something other than the fog sensor itself.

Yes, a warning message appears on the dashboard indicating a problem with the climate control system. The error code points specifically to the fog sensor circuit. Could a faulty sensor really impact all those seemingly disparate systems like the mirror heating and washer jets?

Okay, if the error code is pointing directly to the fog sensor circuit and you're seeing all those symptoms, it does seem likely the sensor or its wiring is the culprit. It's surprising how interconnected everything is these days. Could just be a dodgy connection like you suspect. Honestly, electrical gremlins can be a pain. To be safe maybe get it checked out at a workshop?

I appreciate your insights. I had the vehicle inspected at a reputable workshop. As suspected, the issue was a corroded connector on the fog sensor. The repair, including parts and labor, amounted to 95€. All systems are now functioning as expected. Thank you again for your assistance.
