Insignia Fuel Flap Issue
Summary of the thread
The fuel flap release on a 2009 Vauxhall Insignia stopped working, accompanied by an error message and other temporarily unavailable functions. The issue was suspected to be a linkage problem, but it was ultimately identified as a defective electric actuator. The solution involved replacing the faulty actuator at a workshop, which resolved the problem.

Thanks. I replaced the key fob battery recently, so it's probably not that. I've looked for a manual release in the areas you suggested, but I can't find one. Can you tell me more about what happened to you? Were the symptoms the same, and what fixed it?

Okay, if you've already checked the fob battery and looked for a manual release, then it sounds like we had the same problem. Yeah, the symptoms were exactly as you described. I spent ages fiddling with it myself, but in the end, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They replaced the electric actuator that controls the fuel filler flap lock. Apparently, they're prone to failure. Cost me a bit, but at least it's working perfectly now.

Thanks. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a defective electric actuator. The repair, including parts and labor, was 210€. It's working now. Thanks again for the help.

I have an Insignia too, and something similar happened to me. Couldn't open the fuel door. Did you check the key fob? Sometimes a weak battery can cause weird electrical issues that affect things like the fuel door actuator. Also, have you tried manually actuating the lock? There might be a small manual release somewhere inside the car, perhaps in the trunk near the rear lights.
