Insignia fuel pump malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Vauxhall Insignia is experiencing a fuel pump malfunction, with symptoms such as engine starting issues, stalling, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and a check engine light. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug connection. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a corroded connector on the fuel pump wiring harness, suggesting that checking and repairing the connector could be an effective solution.

Relay was checked, seems fine. You mentioned similar symptoms with your Citroen. Was the definitive root cause also cable- or connector-related?

Yep, pretty much the same thing. Turned out to be a corroded connector on the fuel pump wiring harness. I'd advise getting it checked at a workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose it.

Thanks for the input. Indeed, a defective connector was the culprit. Repair cost: 95€.

Sounds familiar! My old Citroen C4 had similar issues last year. Engine would cut out randomly, and the fuel consumption went through the roof. Did you check the relay as well?
