Insignia Gear Selection Display Failure

The gear selection display is completely blank. The issue did seem to arise somewhat suddenly, although there were maybe a few minor instances of slightly rougher shifting beforehand that I perhaps dismissed at the time. Could you elaborate on the issue you experienced and how it was resolved?

Ah, a completely blank display makes me think it's probably the same culprit. Mine started with intermittent flickering and incorrect gear display before eventually going blank. Honestly, it sounds like the control unit is defective, which is what they told me at the workshop. I ended up having to take it in. They ran some diagnostics and confirmed the issue. It's frustrating, I know, but I'd strongly suggest getting it checked out by a professional, especially with the other symptoms you're describing.

It sounds as though the issues are indeed related. Given the potential severity and the fact that it seems to point towards a control unit fault, I will certainly take your advice and schedule a visit to a qualified workshop. It is disheartening to hear, especially considering the repair cost is estimated to be around 1000€, but I appreciate you confirming my suspicions and guiding me towards a resolution. I will post a resolution to this thread once the repair has been completed.

Wow, that sounds rough! I have an Insignia as well, and while I haven't experienced those symptoms, the gear indicator issue is definitely familiar. Mine was acting up in a similar way a while back. Is it completely blank, or is it showing the wrong gear? Did it happen suddenly, or was it gradual? I'm just wondering if it's the same problem I had.
