Insignia generator fault

Thanks for the reply! I hadn't thought about the serpentine belt actually, I'll give that a look in the morning. As for the voltage, I haven't checked that specifically while it's running, but I did check the battery voltage when the car was off and it seemed a little low. What sort of voltage drop were you seeing when yours was playing up?

The voltage drop I experienced was significant enough to trigger the warning lights and put the car into a reduced power mode. Given your symptoms and the error code you retrieved, it does sound like the generator is the most likely culprit. Whilst it might be the belt, I suspect you may need to prepare yourself for an alternator replacement. I recommend getting it checked at a workshop.

Well, I took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out you were spot on. It was indeed the generator. The repair cost me 960€, but at least it's sorted now. Thanks for the advice!

I had similar issues with my Insignia. First thing I would check is the serpentine belt. If that's worn or loose, it can cause the alternator to not charge correctly, leading to all sorts of electrical gremlins. Have you checked the voltage across the battery terminals while the engine is running? What voltage are you seeing?
