Insignia Idle Control Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Vauxhall Insignia with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling issues at idle, particularly when cold, and the check engine light is on. The problem is identified as a faulty idle air control valve, potentially caused by heavy contamination in the intake. Cleaning the throttle body and MAF sensor did not resolve the issue, leading to the replacement of the idle air control valve, which successfully fixed the problem.

I scrubbed the throttle body and cleaned the MAF sensor a couple of weeks ago, hoping it would fix it, but no luck. It's still stalling, and the error code is still there. I'm starting to think it's the idle air control valve itself. Did your issue end up being something else?

You're on the right track. I tried cleaning, but it didn't help. I took it to a shop. They said it was the idle air control valve and replaced it. It was expensive. Good luck!

I took it to the shop. They said the intake was heavily contaminated, which made the idle air control valve stick. 425€ later, it's running smoothly. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar! I had the same issue with my old Alfa Romeo. Check engine light, stalling at idle... it was a nightmare. Did you try cleaning the throttle body and MAF sensor first? That sometimes fixes things before you start looking at valves.
