Insignia injection fault

I've got a 2014 Vauxhall Insignia with a gasoline engine and a worrying problem. It’s done 222076 km. The injection system seems faulty. I'm seeing higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and the engine sometimes stalls when idling. Plus, there's smoke when I accelerate. I suspect it might be a dodgy cable or plug connection to one of the components. Anyone else experienced something similar? Is there anything I should check before taking it in?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Insignia. Higher fuel consumption and loss of power, you say? And smoke? Is it like a cloud of smoke, or just a puff? What color is the smoke? I’m guessing its the air mixture. Could be something as simple as a leak!

Thanks for the quick response! The smoke is more like a noticeable puff, and it's blackish. A leak, you say? Where exactly would you suspect a leak might be? I've checked the obvious hoses, but nothing jumps out. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Blackish smoke, eh? Yeah, mine did that too! Honestly, I poked around a bit, but I'm no mechanic. It could be a fuel line maybe? I'd hate to tell you to tinker with the engine. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. Best thing I ever did!

Appreciate the advice! Sounds like my best bet is to get it checked out professionally. It’s going in next week. They reckon it’s just a defective cable or plug connection, and it’ll be a relatively cheap fix. About 95€. Fingers crossed!
