Insignia Jerking and Hissing Sound

Hi, I've got a 2016 Vauxhall Insignia diesel. Recently, the check engine light came on, and it's started jerking when I accelerate. I've also noticed a whistling and loud hissing sound at the same time. Sometimes the engine even stalls at idle. It seems to be drinking more fuel than usual and definitely feels like it has less power. Could it be the boost pressure sensor? I read that a defective cable or plug connection might be the problem.

That sounds rough. I've got an Insignia too, and I had almost the exact same symptoms a while back. Check engine light, jerking, the hissing sound – it was all there. Did you check the intake manifold?

I haven't checked the intake manifold. What exactly was the problem with yours? Was it definitely the boost pressure sensor and the connections?

Yeah, pretty sure that's what it was. I messed around with it for a bit, but honestly, I'm no mechanic. I took it to a workshop, and they sorted it out. I'd recommend doing the same if you're not 100% sure what you're doing. Save yourself the headache!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and you were right. Turns out it was the boost pressure sensor and a dodgy connection. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Runs like new now!
