Thanks! No, the horn doesn't work either. The slip ring sounds like a plausible cause. Was the error message you received the same? Did you fix the electrical fault yourself, or did you need professional diagnostics?

Yep, horn dead too, and the error message pointed to the steering controls. I'm no mechanic, so I took it straight to a workshop. Best bet is to get it checked professionally to be honest.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I took it to the workshop like you suggested, and you were spot on. They confirmed it was indeed a defective cable connection, and the total repair cost came to 95€. So glad it's sorted now!

I had something similar with my Insignia. The steering controls went completely dead. Did the horn still work? For me, it was also an error in the steering wheel. Check the slip ring (also called clock spring), it might be broken.
