Thanks for the reply. I haven't noticed any oil leakage, and the oil was changed about 10,000 km ago. Could it be a defect in the oil pump, and if so, how much did the repair cost?

Acknowledged. Given the temporal proximity of your last oil change and the absence of discernible oil leakage, a defect within the oil pump represents a plausible cause. In my specific case, the diagnosis indeed implicated the oil pump. The resolution necessitated a complete replacement of the component. I would strongly suggest a consultation with a qualified automotive technician for diagnostic verification and subsequent remedial measures.

Thank you, I took it to a mechanic, and you were right. It was the oil pump. They replaced it. The final repair cost was 755€. I'm glad I asked before the engine bearings got damaged!

Greetings. I also operate a Vauxhall Insignia. I previously encountered a similar situation, namely the illumination of the oil pressure warning indicator in conjunction with unusual engine acoustics. Have you observed any recent fluctuations in the indicated oil level, and when was the most recent occasion on which the engine oil and filter were exchanged?
