Insignia rough running exhaust leak

Rough running and exhaust smell? Sounds awfully familiar! I had a similar experience with my Insignia. Could you provide more details regarding where you perceive the leak to originate? Have you noticed any change in fuel consumption accompanying these symptoms? It could narrow things down a bit.

The exhaust seems to be leaking near where the exhaust pipe joins the main exhaust treatment system. As for fuel consumption, I haven't specifically measured it, but it does seem like I'm visiting the gas station more often. Does this point to the lambda sensor being defective, causing an incomplete combustion?

Ah, yes, the exhaust pipe joint. I had the exact same issue. In my case, it was indeed the lambda sensor causing havoc. I suggest you get it checked out at a workshop, as driving with a faulty sensor can cause further damage. Was quite an ordeal!
