Yes, it started immediately after the OBD2 read-out. What exactly constitutes a 'drive cycle'? And is there a way to complete it manually, or is it something that happens naturally over time?

A drive cycle is a specific set of driving conditions the car needs to experience. Acceleration, deceleration, cruising at different speeds...all that jazz. Some say there are ways to 'force' it, but honestly, on newer vehicles it can be tricky and might involve specific sequences. As with everything electronic: you could try to fix it yourself or leave it to the people who know what they are doing. I would recommend that you visit a workshop

Thanks for the insight! You were spot on. It seems the OBD2 scanner reset the emissions monitors. After taking it to a workshop they knew immediately. They reset everything, had me drive a few miles and that solved it. Luckily it didn't cost me anything!

Interesting. I had something similar happen with my Insignia. Could be that the OBD2 reset some of the emissions monitors. The system needs to see certain drive cycles completed before it considers itself 'ready' for an emissions test. Think of it like warming up all the players before a big game, the car wants to check if everything works before the MOT. Did it happen right after your read-out?
