Insignia tailgate hall sensor fault

Tailgate on my 2022 Vauxhall Insignia gasoline won't fully open, and I'm getting a 'tailgate hall sensor fault.' Mileage is 206810 km. I'm guessing it's a bad cable or plug, but where should I start?

Summary of the thread

The tailgate of a 2022 Vauxhall Insignia is not fully opening, and a 'tailgate hall sensor fault' is indicated. The issue is likely due to a problem with the hall sensor wiring, such as corrosion or a loose connection. It is suggested to inspect the connections and wiring harness, or alternatively, consult a mechanic for a more efficient diagnosis and repair.

I had something similar with my Insignia. The hall sensor wiring is likely the problem. Check the connections and wiring harness first. Corrosion or a loose connection can cause issues.

Thanks! Can you be more specific about where to look for the connections and wiring harness? I'm okay with basic repairs, but sensor wiring is new to me.

Yeah, I had the same problem. I ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the hall sensor wiring and charged 95€ to fix it. Saved me a ton of time!

Thanks for the tip! I've booked an appointment with my mechanic. Knowing it's probably the hall sensor wiring will help them diagnose it faster. I appreciate it!
