Insignia Windshield Wipers Not Working
Summary of the thread
The windshield wipers on a 2016 Vauxhall Insignia stopped working, with no response from the wiper switch. An error was detected, leading to the suspicion of a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by checking the steering column connections, specifically for loose plugs. The problem was confirmed and fixed at a workshop, resolving the issue efficiently.

Thanks for the quick response! You mentioned checking the steering column connections. Was it just a loose plug, or was there any sign of damage? Also, did your turn signals or cruise control act up as well, or was it purely the wiper blade function?

Yeah, on my Peugeot it was just a loose plug. Everything else worked fine, just the wipers were dead. I'd definitely get it checked by a workshop if you're not confident tackling it yourself. Could save you a headache. In my case the problem was solved very quickly and for little money.

Thanks a lot for the help! I took it to the workshop, and it was indeed a defective cable or plug connection as suspected. The repair cost was 95€, so all good!

Hey there, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar thing happen in my old Peugeot. Windshield wipers just quit, and it turned out to be a dodgy connection in the steering column where the turn signal and wiper controls are. Check the cable connections there!
