Inspire Air Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a 2021 Honda Inspire hybrid experiencing a check engine light issue, suspected to be related to the air valve system. The initial problem is thought to be a bad hose connection affecting manifold pressure and air to the throttle body. A similar issue is suggested to be related to the purge control valve, which can affect the air/fuel mixture. The solution involves checking and repairing the hose connection, which was confirmed by a technician and resolved the issue.

Thanks, the engine is a little rough at idle. Where is the purge control valve located, and what did you do to figure out the problem? I want to check it out before I get it repaired.

On my Inspire, the purge control valve was near the throttle body, close to the intake manifold. After checking the hoses, I just took it to a trusted workshop because I didn't want to mess with the engine management system myself. They confirmed it was a faulty valve and replaced it. It’s better to get it checked by someone who knows Hondas, especially if you're not sure. Could save you money.

I took your advice and spoke to a technician. It was a bad hose connection from the pump to the air valve, like I thought. The repair was 175€. Thanks for sharing your experience, it really helped.

I had something similar on my Inspire. Not sure what year yours is, but it sounds like the purge control valve. That can throw a code and mess with your air/fuel mixture. Check the hoses connected to it for cracks or leaks. It’s a common issue, especially with the mileage you’re at. Is the engine idling rough or hesitating when you accelerate?
