Integra dashboard lights tail lights issue
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Honda Integra is experiencing issues with dashboard and tail lights turning on randomly, even when the car is off. An OBD2 scan indicates an error related to the light switch. The problem is likely due to a short circuit, possibly from a loose or corroded cable or plug connection, or an internally faulty switch. The recommended solution is to inspect the wiring and connections, and if necessary, consult a professional for a thorough diagnosis, which ultimately revealed a defective cable as the cause.

Yeah, I had a look at the switch itself, but honestly, I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. Could it be something more involved than just a loose connection? Like, could the switch itself be faulty?

It's possible the switch is internally faulty, but a bad cable or plug is more likely, especially considering the age of the car. If you're not comfortable tracing the wiring, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop and getting them to diagnose the electrical problem properly before it gets worse.

Alright, I appreciate the advice. I think you're right – I'm probably better off letting a pro handle this one. It was indeed a defective cable costing me 95€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds like a classic short circuit somewhere. The error code points to the headlight switch, which isn't surprising given the symptoms. Have you checked the cable or plug connection of the component for corrosion or loose wires? That's usually the culprit.
