Interstar air suspension failure
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Nissan Interstar is experiencing air suspension failure, with the compressor suspected to be faulty, causing the van to lean and display warning lights. The issue might be due to a dodgy cable or plug, as suggested by the consistent error message. Checking the ride height sensors and connections is recommended, but a professional diagnostic is advised. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by fixing a defective connector on the compressor.

Thanks for the quick reply! No recent maintenance or heavy loads. I haven't checked the ride height sensors specifically; where are they usually located on the Interstar? The error message is pretty consistent, popping up every time I start the engine.

Given the consistency of the error message and the lack of recent maintenance, a compromised connection or component within the air suspension circuit is highly probable. The ride height sensors are generally affixed near each wheel hub. A thorough visual inspection is advisable, though I would suggest getting it properly diagnosed by a workshop, especially if the error is persistent. It sounds like the control unit might be affected.

Appreciate the help! I had a look at the sensors, but I'm not seeing anything obvious. Looks like a trip to the workshop is in order. It was just a defective connector on the compressor. Cost me 95€ to fix. Thanks again!

An air suspension failure manifesting in such a manner warrants careful inspection. Has the system been subject to any recent maintenance or unusual loads? Specifically, have you checked the ride height sensors for damage or disconnection? Intermittent electrical issues can indeed plague these systems. A detailed diagnostic readout may prove invaluable. Is the error message persistent, or does it appear sporadically?
