Interstar Boost Pressure Actuator Fault

My 2022 Nissan Interstar diesel with 201214 km is having issues. The check engine light is on and engine power is way down. Engine response is poor, and there's a whistling noise that turns into a loud hissing when I accelerate. Sometimes it stalls at idle! Fuel consumption has also shot up. I suspect a boost pressure actuator fault, what do you think?

I've got an Interstar, though it's older than yours, and your symptoms sound like an issue I had. Have you looked at the electrical bypass valve? It controls the turbo wastegate, and an actuator fault would cause all those problems.

Thanks! The electrical bypass valve... That sounds right. Can you tell me how you figured that out, or more about that bypass valve failing? Is it like a pinched hose?

It started with a loss of power and weird noises, just like you said. I thought it was a turbo leak, but the actuator valve, part of the electrical bypass valve, wasn't working right. Since your symptoms are so similar, I'd get a shop to check it out. It could save you time.

I had the Interstar inspected. The electrical bypass valve was bad, like you said, causing a boost pressure actuator fault. The repair was 250€, worth it to get the engine running right. Thanks again!
