Interstar Radar Sensor Failure

When you say obstructions, do you mean like physical damage to the sensor cover, or just dirt and grime? I've had a quick look, and the cover seems intact, but I haven't specifically cleaned it yet. And regarding alignment, is there an easy way to check that without specialized equipment?

I was referring more to dirt and grime. The radar sensors are quite sensitive. In my case with the BMW, it was just accumulated road dust causing the issue. As for alignment, without diagnostic tools, it's difficult to be precise. I'd advise against trying to adjust it yourself, as that could potentially worsen the problem. It might be worth taking it to a workshop to have it properly checked. They should be able to diagnose the issue quickly and accurately.

Thanks, that's helpful. I cleaned the sensor as you suggested, and it seems that was indeed the issue. The warning lights are gone, and the systems are working again. The error memory was cleared. It cost me 45€ for the cleaning supplies. I'll keep an eye on it, but hopefully, that's resolved the problem. Appreciate your advice!

I had a similar issue with my 2019 BMW 5 series a while back. The symptoms sound almost identical: error messages, system failures. Before tearing into it, did you check the sensor's immediate surroundings for any obstructions? Even a small build-up of grime or dirt can interfere with the radar's functionality. Radar sensors rely on emitting and receiving signals, so anything blocking that path can cause problems. Also, is the sensor visibly aligned correctly? A slight knock could throw it off.
