Interstar Washer System Failure

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2015 Nissan Interstar diesel. My headlight cleaning system has suddenly stopped working. I've also noticed the windshield washer system isn't squirting anymore either. Could these be related? I've had a quick look and can't see any obvious leaks or kinks in the hoses. Anyone experienced something similar?

Interesting. I've got an Interstar as well, and I had a similar problem a while back. Both the headlight and windshield washers packed in at the same time. Did you check the cable connections to the pump and the relay? That's where my issue was. Is the pump making any noise when you try to activate it?

Thanks for the tip! I'll check the pump and relay connections. Where exactly are they located? I'm guessing if the pump isn't making any noise, it's likely an electrical issue rather than a blocked hose, right?

Yes, if you hear no pump activity whatsoever, I'd definitely suspect an electrical fault. The pump and relay are usually near the washer fluid reservoir. Given the symptoms and the fact that you've checked for obvious leaks, it really does sound like the same issue I had. I ended up taking mine to a workshop; they found a defective connection and replaced a short section of corroded cable. Honestly, unless you're comfortable with auto electrics, I'd recommend the same.

Thanks for the advice! I checked the connections as best as I could, but couldn't find anything obvious. Took it to a local garage and they confirmed it was a defective cable connection, just like you suggested. Repair cost me 165€. Sorted now!
