Ioniq 5 Anti Theft Alarm Error
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Hyundai Ioniq 5 owner is experiencing an anti-theft alarm error, with the alarm being non-functional despite the fuses being intact. A possible cause suggested is an issue with the alarm's coding, potentially related to optical locking. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked by a dealer or trusted mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem, as attempting to adjust the coding personally could lead to further issues.

Interesting! I don't recall any power failures recently. So, if it is coded for optical locking, what's the fix? Can I adjust that myself, or does it need a workshop?

Honestly, I wouldn't mess with the coding yourself unless you REALLY know what you're doing. It can brick stuff. In my case the garage found it out and fixed it. I would take it to the dealer or a trusted mechanic. They should be able to diagnose it pretty quickly.

Thanks! I suspected as much. Just wanted to check if it was a simple fix. I'll book it in. The final repair was 45€, so not too bad.

Whoa, that sucks! My Ioniq 5 had a similar issue: random alarms or not arming. Did it maybe coincide with a power failure? I am wondering if you car alarm is coded to activate optical locking (indicators).
