Ioniq Hybrid Stalling and Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid with 106,000 kilometers is experiencing increased fuel consumption, sluggish engine performance, stalling when idling, and smoke during acceleration. These issues may be linked to a faulty injection system, possibly due to a defective plug connection causing misfires. A professional diagnosis confirmed the problem as a faulty plug connection on the injection system, which was subsequently repaired.

Good point. I did check the air filter, but I haven't looked closely at the entire intake system. What sort of obstructions are we talking about, and how would that impact the fuel injection?

In my case, the performance degradation and stalling were due to a defective plug connection causing misfires. It is advisable to seek a professional diagnosis to confirm.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to the shop, and it was indeed a faulty plug connection on the injection system. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!

I also drive an Ioniq hybrid. Your symptoms sound familiar. Are you certain that the air intake system is free of obstructions?
