Ioniq weak battery warning
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Hyundai Ioniq EV is experiencing weak battery warnings and flickering lights on startup, suggesting the battery might not be charging properly. A possible cause could be a faulty battery sensor, as similar symptoms were resolved by replacing the sensor in another case. Checking the voltage across the battery terminals while the car is running is recommended to confirm the issue. Taking the car to a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair is advised.

Not yet, but that's a good idea. I'll check that tomorrow. What voltage readings did you see when you had the problem?

I never actually got around to checking the voltage myself. I had similar symptoms, weak starts, flickering lights. I took it to a workshop, because I remembered having a faulty sensor on a previous car. They confirmed it was the battery sensor at fault. Cost me around 315€ to get it sorted.

Okay, thanks for the info! That's really helpful. I'll take it to a workshop. Seems like the quickest route. Glad to know what to expect now. Sounds like the battery sensor is definitely the culprit.

I had a similar issue with my Ioniq. It does sound like it could be the voltage sensor. Have you checked the voltage across the battery terminals when the car is running? What voltage do you get?
