Ioniq5 Brake Pedal Feedback
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Hyundai Ioniq5 owner reported strange feedback from the brake pedal, suspecting undervoltage issues affecting the brake system. Another owner suggested that the problem might be related to the electronic brake system, possibly involving sensor issues. After a professional check, it was found that worn disc brakes combined with undervoltage were causing unusual interactions with the regenerative braking system, which was resolved by replacing the brakes.

There is indeed some squeaking occasionally. Did the squeaking happen at all speeds, and did it feel like the ABS was kicking in early, even on dry pavement?

The squeaking was intermittent, mostly at lower speeds. The ABS feeling is interesting; mine didn't do that. Given the electronic brake system on these, and your undervoltage suspicion, I'd advise getting it checked professionally. Could be a sensor issue or something more complex.

Thanks for the input. Took it to the shop; you were right, it was more complex. Some worn disc brakes combined with the undervoltage caused some weird interaction with the regenerative braking. New brakes all around cost 240€. All good now.

I have an Ioniq5 and had something similar. It wasn't exactly the pedal feel, but the brakes were definitely acting up. Any squeaking or unusual noises when braking?
