Ioniq5 Mirror Heating Issue

I've got a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (electric engine) with about 109385 km on the clock. Recently, I noticed the mirror heating isn't working. Both side mirrors don't heat up at all. I scanned the car, and there's an error code related to the mirror heating circuit. I checked the fuses, but they seem fine. Any ideas before I start tearing things apart?

Summary of the thread

The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a mirror heating issue where both side mirrors fail to heat up. An error code related to the mirror heating circuit was identified, but the fuses were checked and found to be fine. A possible cause suggested was a corroded or defective connector in the door harness. The issue was resolved by a mechanic who found and fixed a defective plug connection.

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series a while back. Mirror heating packed it in, and it turned out to be a corroded connector in the door harness. Have you checked the wiring and connectors going to the mirrors themselves? Sometimes, they can get a bit dodgy, especially with the weather changes.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the connectors inside the door yet. Do you remember if it was difficult to access them on your BMW? Anything I should watch out for when taking the door panel off?

Accessing the connectors can be a bit of a pain. On the BMW, you had to be careful with the plastic clips holding the door card on – they're super easy to break. Honestly, if you're not super confident, might be worth getting a workshop to take a look. Could save you a lot of hassle. Probably something minor like a loose plug. But better safe than sorry, especially with electrical stuff.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to my local mechanic. Turns out it was a defective plug connection, just like the error message suggested. 95€ later, all fixed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
