Ioniq5 Rain Light Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 owner experienced issues with the rain-light sensor, leading to auto-wiping and auto headlights malfunctioning, speedometer dimming issues, and lights remaining on. A potential cause identified was bubbles forming under the gel pad on the windshield where the sensor is located. The solution involved replacing the gel pad, which resolved the sensor fault.

Bubbles? I haven't noticed any, but I'll take a closer look. Was that definitely the cause of your sensor fault?

Yep, that was it for me. The bubbles mess with the sensor's ability to 'see' properly. You might be able to get it sorted, but I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop.

Thanks for the heads up! You were spot on about the gel pad. The workshop replaced it for 62€. All working fine now!

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen on my Ioniq 5. Could there be bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor sits?
