iQ parking aid failure
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Toyota iQ's parking aid system has failed, with the display non-functional and an error message in the ECU. The sensors appear clean and undamaged, suggesting a possible issue with the wiring harness or connectors. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a corroded connector, and it's advised to thoroughly clean the sensors and inspect the connections. If unresolved, professional assistance is recommended to avoid further complications.

Cheers for the tip! By clean, you mean free of dirt, right? I gave them a quick wipe, but didn't do anything more thorough than that. Was your issue intermittent, or did it just fail completely like mine?

Yeah, just a quick wipe won't cut it. Road grime builds up. Mine went completely, like a lightbulb blowing. Ended up being a corroded connector. Unless you're confident with electrics, it might be worth getting a workshop to take a look. Save yourself the headache!

Thanks, that's really helpful! I'll give the sensors a proper clean and check the connectors more closely. If that doesn't work, I'll get it booked in. They quoted 95€ for checking the cable or plug connection. Hopefully, that sorts it. Appreciate the advice!

I had something similar happen in my iQ. The parking sensors just went kaput. Before you tear everything apart, check the wiring harness and connectors. Are you sure all the sensors are actually clean?
