iQ Sunroof Initialization Error
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Toyota iQ owner experienced a 'sunroof not initialized' error, causing the sunblind and convertible top to malfunction. The issue likely stemmed from a coding problem rather than a mechanical obstruction. The recommended solution was to have the sunroof module reinitialized by a professional familiar with Toyota iQ electrics. After following this advice, the problem was resolved successfully.

Thanks for the quick reply! The error message stays on even after restarting the car. I haven't seen any obvious obstructions, but where exactly should I be looking? Is there a specific part of the sunroof mechanism that's prone to causing this?

The fact that the error persists after a restart points more towards a coding issue than a mechanical one. While checking for obstructions is always a good idea, it sounds like the sunroof lost its correct settings after the coding procedure. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop that's familiar with Toyota iQ electrics; they'll be able to reinitialize the sunroof module.

You were spot on! Took it to a shop, and they confirmed the coding had messed things up. They reinitialized the sunroof module, and everything's working perfectly now. Cost me 75€ . Thanks for the help!

That's a common problem after coding on these cars. The sunroof module probably needs a reset. Does the error message disappear after ignition off/on? Have you checked the sunroof mechanism for any obstructions?
