Hey, no problem, always happy to help! So the bill from the mechanic was around €180 for removing the programming abort during a software update in the engine control unit. Since then, the car has been running like new again, so apparently the software installed in the vehicle was faulty. But if you have something like this done in the workshop, it shouldn't really be a problem. You just have to pay attention to the price, because it was a lot of money. Since then, however, no further problems have occurred - at least so far. Hope that helps you!

Great, that's really helpful, thanks again! 180 is quite a lot of money, but if the car runs smoothly again, it's probably worth it. I'll take your advice to heart and go to the garage. Let's see what my mechanic has to say... I'll get back to you with any news. Thanks again for all your help!

Hey, I just had a similar problem with my 2016 Skoda Octavia. It was really annoying, everything. In my case, it was the alternator that was acting up. It's probably a rarer problem, but the flickering lights and the warning light in the speedometer were also at the start for me. So, the way you describe it, it could well be the alternator, not the software. I then had to go to the garage and they fixed it for me. They checked everything thoroughly and replaced the alternator. It was a serious matter, not a simple software error. Hope that helps you, buddy.
