Hey, thanks for your reply! It's great that your car ran smoothly again after the workshop visit. The transmission control unit could actually work for me too. Do you remember how much you had to pay for it? Has anything come up again since the repair or has your Citroen been running perfectly since then? I'd like to know what I need to be prepared for. Thanks for your help!

Hey, I can reassure you that everything has been running like clockwork since the mechanic's visit. The grinding noises are gone and the gearbox is shifting properly again. The transmission oil temperature sensor was also no longer an issue. Obviously, the malfunction was also rectified. So, no worries about that. On the subject of costs: Well, it wasn't cheap. Replacing and repairing the defective transmission control unit cost me a good €1000. But hey, since my Citroen has been running perfectly again, it was worth it. No further problems have arisen since then. So, I would advise you to invest the money well and take the car to the garage. Maintenance is important so that you are not suddenly faced with even higher repair costs. I hope I have been able to help you with this!

Hey, thanks for the detailed reply! It's reassuring to hear that everything was back to normal after the mechanic's visit. And the information about the transmission oil temperature sensor is also interesting. 1000€ is a lot of money, but if it helps and no further problems occur afterwards, it's probably worth it. Yes, you're absolutely right. Maintenance is important and can save you from unexpectedly high repair costs. So I won't hesitate any longer and will take my car to the garage - and hope that everything runs smoothly again afterwards. Thanks again for your advice and experience, it really helped me!

Hey buddy, had a similar problem with my 2014 Citroen C4. I also had a faulty transmission control unit, hence the erratic shifting and noises. It wasn't a problem with the transmission oil temperature sensor, but actually the transmission control unit. Fortunately, it wasn't too serious a problem. Sure, it was pretty annoying and the warning light was driving me crazy, but when I went to the garage they replaced the unit straight away. After that, my car ran like it used to, with no problems at all. It sounds like you have the same problem I had back then. So would definitely advise you to take the car to the garage and have the transmission control unit checked. Hope my experience helps you!
