Issues with Defroster Flap Control in 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid owner is experiencing issues with the blower, suspecting a problem with the defroster flap control. A similar issue in a 2018 Renault Megane was resolved by replacing the control module for the heating and air conditioning, which was affected by a defective servomotor cable connection. The suggested solution is to have a mechanic inspect and potentially replace the control module to restore proper blower function.

Hey, cheers for replying! It's quite a relief to hear that your mechanic was able to squash this issue without too much of a headache. That control module fix you mentioned sounds right up my alley as the culprit behind my blower woes. If you don’t mind me asking, do you remember how much it set you back? Also, since the fix, have you run into any other similar or related problems? Thanks again!

Hey, no worries, always happy to help a fellow car owner out! So, if memory serves me right, I had to shell out about 200 bucks to fix the darn Servomotor cable connection. It wasn't exactly a bargain, but considering the difference in performance afterward, definitely worth every cent. And to answer your second question, since running into the good ol' mechanic man, it did indeed solve my problem. The Defroster flap control issue? Sorted. It's been a smooth ride since then, no further issues or anything. So rest assured, in my experience, once it's dealt with, it really is dealt with. All the best with your ride!

Ace, that's reassuring! $200 doesn’t sound too shabby considering the comfort returned in the long run. I'm hopeful it'll be the same for my Arkana. I've surely had my share of chilly rides lately, so I don't mind getting it sorted asap. Thanks loads for the info and your time! I'll take it to a mechanic and see how things pan out. Fingers crossed! Safe driving to you too.

Hey there, I totally feel you. Had a similar problem with my 2018 Renault Megane just a few months back. It turned out to be a defective Servomotor cable connection, same as you suspected. I took it to the garage and the mechanic pinpointed the issue straightaway. To fix the issue, he replaced the whole control module for the heating and air conditioning. I wouldn't say it was too much of a hassle, but definitely not something you'd want to ignore. It was affecting the blower's performance quite significantly but causing no other serious issues. So, yeah, I'd recommend getting it checked out as soon as possible to ensure the problem doesn't get worse. Drop me a message if you need more info. Safe driving!
