Issues with Key Fob and Access Control in 2018 Lexus CT200h Hybrid

Hey guys, got a bit of a problem with my 2018 Lexus CT200h. It’s a hybrid, got about 99,130 KM on it. I've been having a heap of trouble with its access control, really off! The key fob doesn't always respond and sometimes I struggle with locking/unlocking the car. Has anyone else faced a similar issue? I had a rough deal with my last mechanic so kinda skeptical about going back. I’d love to hear about others' experiences and solutions. Cheers in advance!

Hey, had a similar problem with my 2015 Lexus IS sedan, seems like a common snag in these models. In my case, the comfort access door handle was causing the grief. I recall it was a bit tricky because the keyless entry system was acting wonky - sounds quite like your case. Took my ride to the garage and after examining, they figured out the problem was actually with the door handle unit. It was a bit bizarre, as you wouldn't associate that with keyless entry issues, right? But yes, it turned out that the door handle for comfort access was actually defective. Not exactly a serious issue, but it can be a nuisance. The good part is, they fixed the defective component, and things have been smooth sailing since then. I'd suggest getting it checked out. Don't let it stress you out, more or less a simple problem. Good luck, hope your ride gets sorted out soon!

Hey there, appreciated your insight on this. It's pretty interesting to know that the door handle could play up like that. I will definitely consider visiting a garage soon to get my Lexus CT200h checked out. By the way, remember how much you paid for getting it fixed at that time? Also, did any other related issues pop up since the repair? Thanks again!

Hey, happy to help! If memory serves me right, when I ran into the same problem with my Lexus IS, the repair didn't bankrupt me or anything, just set me back around €390. A chunk of that was for the faulty comfort access door handle. Feels funny to spend that on a handle, right? But remember, it's not just any handle, it's part of yo' high-tech system! Good news, though: since that repair, I've had no sweat with the car access system. It's been working like a dream! So, hang in there, Lexi's gonna be good as new soon! Good luck!

Wow, €390, huh? I suppose for a smooth ride, it's not too steep. More of an investment than an expense, right? It's all about the comfort and security, after all. Really pleased that your issue got sorted with no future problems. You've definitely restored my confidence. Heading to the garage ASAP now! Thanks again your advice means a lot! Hope my Lexi gets back on track like yours. Cheers!
