Issues with Starting a 2021 Dacia Spring Electric: Potential Vehicle Lock Problems?
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Dacia Spring Electric is experiencing starting issues, either not starting at all or briefly starting before shutting off. The initial suspicion is a problem with the vehicle lock, possibly related to improper key programming. Another potential cause could be an aging battery not providing sufficient power. Suggested solutions include checking the key programming and inspecting the battery, with a recommendation to consult a professional mechanic for further diagnosis, especially concerning high-voltage components.

Hey, thanks for the advice! I'll definitely look into getting the key reprogrammed. It's worth a shot. To answer your question, there are no specific error codes popping up. Just the occasional stutter during ignition. My Dacia's had a good run so far, rolling some 56368 kms without major issues. Just went through the latest service, so this electrical start-up thing is pretty unexpected. I'll keep an eye out for any patterns and keep you all updated. Appreciate the help!

No problem. Glad to offer some help! Your situation sounds a lot like mine used to be. No error codes and occasional stutters. It truly seems like a key programming issue. But also, just a thought arose here, have you checked the battery? Sometimes, when it ages, it might not provide enough power for all the systems, including locking and ignition. Wouldn't hurt to rule it out. Anyway, keep in mind it's generally a good idea to pay attention to unusual behavior in your car's operation. The thing will usually tell you when something's wrong if you listen closely enough, you know what I mean? Keep us posted on what you find out! Cheers and good luck with the troubleshooting!

Cheers! You've been a great help. You know I wouldn't have thought of the battery. Sounds like a good plan to get that checked too, better safe than sorry, right? And yeah, you're spot on about listening to the car. A machine with so many moving parts is always trying to talk to its driver. I'll stay vigilant and update you with the findings. Thanks again, and take care!

Hello, my 2021 Dacia Spring Electric won't start into OK mode. It shows a red car error symbol with an exclamation mark on top when I turn the key. It doesn't switch to OK mode; I don't hear the relay working. I don't know where the relay is located and if it's possible to safely check the main battery relay myself? Thank you

The red car error symbol with an exclamation mark indicates a critical issue that needs immediate attention. First, check the 12V auxiliary battery to ensure it has enough charge, as this can affect the vehicle's electronics. If the battery is fine, it's best to have a professional mechanic inspect the main battery relay and other electrical components, as working with high-voltage systems can be dangerous. Please update us on your progress or if you have any further questions.

Hey there, I reckon I can share some light on your problem. I had a similar issue with my 2019 Dacia Sandero. Usual driver with just some car experience here, nothing too fancy, but yeah, I've had my share of time in the workshops. In my case, the trouble boiled down to improper key programming. Got it fixed at my local garage, cost me about 45 Euro. It worked like a charm afterward and I haven't had a problem since. Just to be sure, could you share more about your vehicle info? Like, does it ever throw any specific error code or behaves weirdly in certain situations? Any additional tidbits could help in providing more accurate advice. Keep us posted!
