ix35 Diesel Fuel Injection Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Hyundai ix35 diesel is experiencing higher fuel consumption, reduced power, stalling, and exhaust smoke during acceleration. The engine management light is on, and a recent fuel filter change did not resolve the issue. A diagnostic scan at a workshop identified a faulty connection in the fuel injection system, which was fixed by replacing a cable and plug.

Thanks. Yes, the engine light is on. The fuel filter was changed about 15000 km ago during a service. Could a bad sensor in the injection system cause this?

A defective sensor is possible, given the engine light and symptoms. But it's hard to know for sure without the right tools. I'd recommend a workshop does a diagnostic scan to find the problem. It'll save time and prevent further issues.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and the diagnostic scan found a faulty connection in the injection system, like I thought. Replacing the cable and plug cost 95€.

Those symptoms do point towards fuel injection problems. Is the engine management light on? Also, when did you last change the fuel filter? A clogged filter can cause similar issues.
