ix35 fuel sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Hyundai ix35 with a diesel engine is experiencing a check engine light and occasional stalling when idling, with a diagnostic scan indicating an issue with the fuel level sensor. The fuel cap and fuses have been checked, but the problem persists. Suggestions include disconnecting the battery to reset the system, though this may not be a permanent fix. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a workshop to address the faulty fuel sensor, as it could affect the fuel/air mixture and potentially cause further damage.

Thanks for the quick reply! The fuel gauge seems okay, it's not jumping around or anything like that. Just the check engine light, the stalling, and the error code. Disconnecting the battery is a good idea, I might give that a shot. Did that work for you, or did you have to do something else?

No worries! Disconnecting the battery didn't fix it for me unfortunately. The light came back on after a day or two. Honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a workshop. A faulty fuel sensor can mess with the fuel/air mixture and could cause more damage down the road. It cost me around 52€ to get it fixed.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I think I will take it to a workshop this week. Hopefully, it's just the sensor and nothing too major. Thanks again!

Hey, I also have an ix35, and that sounds pretty familiar! I had something similar happen a while back. Does the fuel gauge seem to be acting weird at all, like fluctuating wildly or showing empty when you know there's fuel in the tank? If so, it really does sound like the fuel sensor. Have you tried disconnecting the battery for like 30 mins? Sometimes that can reset things.
