ix35 Lighting Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Hyundai ix35 owner experienced random lighting faults and suspected a faulty light switch or bad connection. Another person with a similar issue suggested checking the main connector on the light switch. The owner took the vehicle to a local shop, where a faulty connector was identified and fixed, resolving the issue without needing to replace the switch.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'cable or plug connection', do you mean the main connector going into the headlight switch, or were there other connectors I should be looking at? Any specific wires I should be checking for damage or looseness?

Yes, I mean the main connector. It would be better to have it checked by a professional. In my experience, the error could be in the switch itself. But I would not recommend replacing it myself as a novice. To avoid consequential damage, I recommend a specialist workshop.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to my local shop, and it turns out it was indeed a faulty connector. They cleaned it up and secured it properly. Cost me 95€, which is a lot better than replacing the whole switch! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

I had a similar issue with my Hyundai ix35. In my case, it was the cable or plug connection on the light switch. I would check those first.
