ix35 Mirror Heating Defect
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a defect in the mirror heating system of a 2013 Hyundai ix35, with both mirrors failing simultaneously and an error code stored. The initial suspicion was a cable or plug issue. After checking the fuses and considering the simultaneous failure, it was suggested that the problem might be a common connector or wiring harness issue. The problem was ultimately resolved by a workshop, confirming a faulty plug connection as the cause.

Fuses are fine. Both mirrors went out at the same time, yes. Is it likely that it is a broken cable, or is it more likely to be the plug connection?

Given the simultaneous failure and you've checked the fuses, I'd lean towards a common connector or wiring harness issue, possibly chafing somewhere. If you are not comfortable checking it yourself, a workshop might be a good idea.

Thanks for the input. Ended up taking it to a workshop, as suggested. Turned out to be a faulty plug connection, as suspected. Repair cost 95€.

I have an ix35, diesel too. Had a similar issue last year. Was it both mirrors at the same time for you? If so, have you checked the fuses? Seems odd for both heater elements to fail simultaneously.
