ix35 Passenger Seat Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Hyundai ix35 owner experienced a malfunction with the passenger electric seat, which wouldn't adjust and showed an error in the memory. A suggestion was made to check the battery, as a weak or defective battery can cause electrical issues, including problems with power seats. After testing and replacing the defective battery, the seat function was restored, resolving the issue.

Interesting. The car starts fine, no other weird electrical stuff. But I guess I haven't specifically checked the battery condition. Is it possible for just the seat to be affected?

Yeah, it's possible. The power seats can be pretty sensitive to voltage drops. Even if the car seems to start okay, a slightly weak battery can still mess with them. Given the error code and the lack of movement, I'd say get the battery properly tested. If it's not that, then you're looking at maybe the seat harness or the seat switch itself. But battery first, easy and cheap to rule out. Otherwise you need to go to the workshop and have the error memory read out.

Thanks, appreciate the advice. Turns out it was a defective battery, like you said. Replaced it and now the seat works perfectly. Total cost was 290€.

Hey, I had something similar with my ix35. First thing I'd check is the battery. A heavily discharged or defective battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. Have you noticed any other electrical issues, like slow starting or dimming lights?
