ix35 Poor Cold Start and Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
The 2014 ix35 diesel is experiencing poor engine performance during cold starts, an error code, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause is a malfunctioning PTC heater, possibly due to a defective electric auxiliary heater. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the heater, and a visit to a workshop for diagnosis and repair is recommended.

Confirming, are you suggesting complete failure of the electric auxiliary heater is the likely cause? Did you replace it?

Yes, that's right. In my case, that was indeed the problem. If you want to be sure, go to the workshop. They will diagnose the problem for you.

I appreciate the confirmation. I will visit a qualified workshop to have the electric auxiliary heater inspected. They confirmed the error and quoted 350€ for the repair, which I have approved. Thanks for your help.

I had almost the same symptoms on my ix35. Check the heating system, it may be the heating element. If the heat is not working properly, that might be the root cause. Is the air coming out cold?
