ix35 Start-Stop Failure Engine Stalling

My 2011 Hyundai ix35 diesel with 192830 km has a start-stop issue. It's stopped working, the engine cuts out unexpectedly, and a warning light comes on. Could this be a battery problem? I've seen conflicting info about restart issues.

I have the same model. I had similar symptoms. Did you check the battery voltage? My start-stop was failing because the battery was dying. Worth checking before looking at bigger problems.

Thanks. Did your engine ever shut off completely? What did you do? Trying to understand how serious this is before booking a workshop.

Yes, the engine stalling was one of my symptoms. Given the error and stalling, I'd recommend a workshop for a proper diagnosis. For me, it was a faulty battery, and it cost 290€ including fitting.

Thanks for the info. I'll book a workshop for a diagnosis. Sounds like a new battery is likely. Thanks for sharing your experience and the cost.
