Jade Mirror Heating Issue

Has anyone had issues with the mirror heating on their 2019 Honda Jade Hybrid? Mine's done 75621 km and they don't heat up, even in cold weather. OBD-II scanner shows an error in the mirror heating circuit. Could it be the temperature control system? I suspect a faulty cable or plug.

Summary of the thread

The conversation centers on a heating issue with the mirrors of a 2019 Honda Jade Hybrid, which are not functioning despite cold weather. An OBD-II scanner indicates an error in the mirror heating circuit, leading to suspicions of a faulty cable or plug. Suggestions include checking the fuse, using a wiring diagram, and testing with a multimeter, but due to the complexity and potential risks with hybrid electrics, professional diagnosis is recommended.

Hey! Bummer about your mirror heat. My friend had something similar, but on a different car. A bad connection sounds right. Have you checked the fuse box? Might be a blown fuse. If the fuse is good, you might need to find a wiring diagram online. A multimeter could also help you test the wires leading to the mirrors. Be careful messing with car electrics though!

Thanks! The fuse is fine. I'm thinking about getting a wiring diagram and using a multimeter. What are the risks of probing the wiring, especially with the car's electrical system involved?

Right, fuses are usually the first suspect, haha! With a multimeter, just be super careful you don't accidentally short anything. Make sure you've got the meter set to the right range – voltage, continuity, whatever you're testing. Really though, considering it's mirror heating, and you've got an error code stored, plus you're not 100% comfy diving in... honestly, maybe best to get a quote from a workshop? Especially on a hybrid, playing with electrics is a bit scary. They can properly diagnose it. It'll probably be a loose plug or a dodgy wire like you thought.

I appreciate the guidance. Given my limited expertise with hybrid electrics, I'm seeking professional help. I've booked an appointment with a mechanic. The estimate to diagnose and fix the cable or plug is about 95€.
