Just wanted to follow up on my previous sensor issue. My engine stalling problems were completely resolved after replacing the faulty pressure sensor and harness. The car runs perfectly now with no power loss or stalling. Very similar to your case, the symptoms you describe match what I experienced. Curious how much you ended up paying for the repair? Also, have you noticed any other fuel system related problems since the fix? In my experience the repair costs can vary quite a bit between shops, and sometimes related components need attention too.

Following up on my earlier post, great to hear you got the same positive results after fixing the fuel rail pressure sensor. The repair solved all my engine performance issues completely, with no problems since the fix about 8 months ago. For the repair costs, I paid 240€ total at my shop, which included parts and labor for both the sensor and harness replacement. The diagnostic testing was included in that price. Seems like a fair price considering the technical nature of fuel injection system work. No additional fuel system problems have surfaced since the repair. The engine performance has remained stable and smooth. The investment was worth it to prevent potential damage to other components. Having a properly functioning fuel rail pressure sensor is crucial for maintaining correct fuel delivery and optimal engine operation. A tip for others reading: if you notice similar symptoms, get the fuel rail checked promptly. The sensor signal issues tend to worsen over time, and early intervention can prevent more expensive repairs down the line.

Thanks for the help. Just wanted to share how my repair went. Took it to my regular shop last week and they confirmed the fuel rail pressure sensor diagnosis. The mechanic found corroded wiring near the sensor connection too, which explained the inconsistent readings. Total bill came to 280€ including parts and labor. They replaced both the sensor and the wiring harness in about 3 hours. The fuel injection system works perfectly now, no more stalling or power loss issues. The check engine light is gone and the engine idles smoothly again. The pressure sensor signal readings are now stable according to their diagnostic tool. Really glad I got this fixed before it could cause any additional problems. The shop showed me the old parts, the corrosion on the connections was pretty bad. Definitely worth getting it sorted quickly when these symptoms show up.

Had similar issues with a 2016 Jaguar XF 2.0L. The symptoms matched exactly, engine power loss, stalling at idle, and check engine light. The fuel pressure sensor signal was indeed the culprit. The pressure sensor connects to the fuel rail and monitors fuel delivery. When it fails, it sends incorrect readings to the ECU, causing irregular fuel delivery. The repair involved replacing both the sensor and the associated wiring harness since corrosion had spread to the connections. This is considered a moderate to serious issue since: It can lead to complete engine failure if left unchecked, Poor fuel delivery can damage other engine components, The car becomes unsafe to drive due to unpredictable stalling The diagnostic process included: 1. Full computer scan 2. Fuel pressure testing 3. Wiring inspection 4. Sensor signal monitoring Recommend getting it checked soon as these symptoms typically worsen over time. The fuel rail pressure sensor is critical for proper engine operation, and driving with a faulty one risks additional damage to the fuel system.
